Seizures suck.

Madalyn, our second child, who is five months old, was just admitted to the hospital. She’s had four seizures in three days. Three of those seizues while I was holding her. Let me tell you, I can’t think of a simple damned thing that sucks more. It makes you feel so incredibly powerless. I hate it.

Now, her brother, Parker (our first child, 2 and a half), had seizures at approximately the same age. And I had seizures (fairly serious ones, Grand Mal) when I was a wee lad. So it looks like it’s genetic. (familial?)

But it sucks. The test’s suck for the parent as well. EEG, MRI, CAT Scans. Not fun.

I hate seizures. I hate thinking about them. I hate writing about them. I just hate them.
