Daring Fireball (which is a wonderful site I’m going to more and more) has created a good plugin for MoveableType. SmartyPants performs several typographic transformations on your weblog entry.
Smart Quotes. Transforms straight quotes into ‘curly quotes’.
Smart Dashes. Transforms each instance of “--” into ” — ” the proper em-dash.
Smart Ellipses. Transforms each instance of “…” (dot dot dot) into the entity-encoded ellipsis.
