It's a Small World with photomicrography

For the past 28 years, Nikon has sponsored the Small World Competition, the world’s foremost forum for recognizing excellence in photomicrography.

This stuff is insane. Truly beautiful stuff. Some of my favorites include “Deformation of a polyethylene folio“, “Cat tongue“, “Barbital, betadine, fenacetine and sulfuric acid“, “Section of a coin“, and “Crystal of pharmaceutical chemical Pontocaine“.

This is only a sampling of these amazing photos. And they go back to 1977. Just amazing. Simply amazing.
