Spoof User-Agent for Camino

eFritz has a ton of cool tips and hints for Camino. My current favorite is getting Camino pretend to be another browser by spoofing the User Agent.

UPDATE: For some reason, this doesn't seem to work so hot with Camino. Or at least my version of Camino. If someone out there can make this work...please let me know.

Open the User.js file, and add this line:
user_pref("general.useragent.override", "[User Agent]"); Examples of user agents are:
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.2; Mac_PowerPC) - Internet Explorer 5.2, Mac
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0b; Windows 98) - Internet Explorer 6.0, Windows
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:0.9.4.1) Gecko/2002 - Netscape 6.2, Mac OS X
Mozilla/4.75C-CCK-MCD {C-UDP; EBM-APPLE} (Macintosh; I; PPC) - Netscape 4.7, Mac
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC; en-US; rv:0.9.2) Gecko/2001 - Netscape 6.1, Mac
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20020730 AOL/7.0 - AOL 7.0, Mac
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows XP) Opera 6.01 [en] - Opera 6, Windows XP
Mozilla/4.5 (compatible; OmniWeb/4.1-v422; Mac_PowerPC) - OmniWeb, Mac OS X
Emacs-W3/4.0pre.46 URL/p4.0pre.46 (i386-suse-linux; X11) - XEmacs, Linux

After working this for some time I actually read the PREFS>JS file which said to go to the Mozilla site. The PREFS>JS file is overwritten everytime Camino exits, so prefs (like spoofing) is changed back to Camino after you quit. To make this spoofing permanent, plae the above mentioned like in the file USER.JS in the same foler as PREFS.JS. Works for me. Here's my spoof line taken from USER.JS:

user_pref("general.useragent.override", "[Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/125.5.5 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/125.11]");
