The Metropolitan Museum of Art has created a very nice "Timeline of Art History":http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/splash.htm. It isn't 100% complete, as they've gotten up to 1600 AD(Anno Domini). So they're only covering 21,600 years, rather than the full 22,000 years of Art History. boo-hoo.
Some really nice stuff. Different pieces from all over at all times. Like "Seated Ganesha(from the 14th-15th century)":http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/ho/08/ssa/hob_64.102.htm. I love that piece. "Studies for the Libyan Sibyl(by Michelangelo)":http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/ho/08/eusts/hob_24.197.2.htm just doesn't need words. Other than "Wow" or "Damn" or "Oh My God".
Moving from Europe into the Balkan Peninsula, we see the Tughra of Süleyman the Magnificent. Talk about caligraphy.
"I(Portrait sculpture of a Zen Prient)":http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/ho/08/eaj/hob_63.65.htm "could(Shaiva saint, Karaikkal Ammaiyar)":http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/ho/07/sss/hob_1982.220.11.htm "go(Curly-Tailed Animal Pendant)":http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/ho/05/cac/ho_91.1.1166.htm "on(Figure Pendant)":http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/ho/06/cac/hob_1978.412.152.htm "and(Head of a king, probably Shapur II)":http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/ho/05/wai/hob_65.126.htm "on(Terminal for an Open-Ring Brooch)":http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/ho/06/eue/hob_2000.140.htm
