I think they made it for the same reason anyone makes ads - to gain mindshare.
It's part of an ongoing campaing from C4 featuring very quickly edited snippets of celebrities who appear in Channel4 shows, answering questions such as what they'd do different if they could live their life again, who do they most respect, etc. This is just a continuation of the series. They can only run it late at night on their own pay-to-view channels E4 and Film Four. They'd also hoped to run it in cinemas before screenings of Kill Bill 2, but were banned by the UK cinema regulatory authorities.

Can you explain to me why they made this ad? I guess it has something to do with censorship and the american television...
