From "Straight and crooked thinking" by Robert H. Thouless comes a list of Thirty-eight dishonest tricks which are commonly used in argument, with methods of overcoming them.
I'm horrible at arguing. I used to be good at it. Debate team and all. I'm going to blame college, and the killing of many brain cells. But the end result is that nowadays, I'm horrible at arguments. I flat-out stink.
I recognize many of these tricks. The beauty of hind-sight I guess. They've all been used against me at one point or another.
I'm going to have to find this book. It looks quite the educational piece.

Schopenhauer wrote a list of 38 strategies to win any argumentation. This cannot be a coincidence.
