Meta Efficient: A Guide To the Most Efficient Things in the World is just way cool.
The waterless urinal was the first thing that jumped off the page at me, simple because of the phrase "urine is contained under a special biodegradable liquid".
I also really like the way they do their links, with the animated underline. Quite effective I think.
I find the underline thing novel, but a little gimicky. The content is way cool though. It's good to see turbo diesel given recognition as an alternative to gasoline engines.
I don't think of the animated underline as gimicky. It stricks a nice cord with me...denoting action, etc. I also think it works well with the site. But to each his own...
I'll have to agree with Dan, the animated underline looks horribly cheesy in my opinion. Perhaps if it wasn't arrows scrolling across, then it might be more effective.
