Grrrr. I don't want to give up, but I am.

I want to like this design. I want to do a fluid, full-screen layout. I really do. I want to like this.

But I just don't.

I just don't think it looks good. It looks crappy. Mediocre at best.

So I think I'm going to ditch the whole damn thing, and back-track. Put back the old design, and work from there. The current trend is to take the old design and polish it. Lord knows I need the polishing. And I liked the old design. And I don't like this one.

Well, I like parts of it. I like the titles. I like the logo area on the top left. But overall it just doesn't work.

And doing columns in a full-screen fluid layout? Please. It'd be one thing if I could say width: (50%-150px);, but you can't. So if you have any fixed width elements in your fluid layout, you're fucked. Like Ned Beatty in Deliverance.

So I'll archive this layout. I might try and get it so you can switch back and forth. But maybe not. We'll see.

I agree with you. I did like your old design better. I tinkered with a fluid layout for a while too, but it just wasn't worth the effort especially when large monitors made reading the long lines of text impossible. Fight the power!

I read your stuff every day....keep up the good work.

i'll second what chris said.

The 'old' design looked a whole lot better.
More colors, all this grey just makes me want to quickly read your stuff and move along to the next site as fast as i can.

I too read your stuff almost every day ...and you should keep up the good work!

Jay

aaah thats better again.
something wrong with how your date/time shows though, much much to small.

Tony

Yeah, the style sheets need fixing. This is a quick relapse to the old version, expect some weirdness to ensue.
