First off, this isn't another organization. UXnet wants to be an umbrella for all the UX (User Experience) related organizations and sites out there.
User Experience Design encompasses a lot of disciplines. Interaction Design, Information Architecture, Usability, User Testing, Design, HCI (Human Computer Interface) and more. This site looks to accelerate the growth of UX as an interdisciplinary field.
The organizations that are supporting it (for now - there will probably be more) are AIfIA, ASIS&T, IxDG, and UPA.
This is a great idea. I like the idea of trying to consolidate this disciplines, as I've found I've had to wear all of these hats myself in most organizations I've worked at. Having a centrilized organization could be very helpful. I hope it works.
