An excellent graphic on the words the politicans have used in the conventions was recently in the New York Times.
This graphic is good for a couple reasons. It shows quickly and easily the top items of speechs, color coded by party. This part is at the top, and dominates the initial view of the graphic. My only complaint here is I’d like to see these words related to the top leading up to the respective conventions, or whether these were convention words only. But a time-based display would just make this shine.
The second part of the graphic, which breaks down who said what and how often further substantiates the upper part of the graph. But one thing I notice immediately is the imbalance of speakers. 6 Rebuplicans, 4 Democrats. Shouldn’t that be 5 and 5? But they break the words down to the person, and provide a count of each time. This provides an interesting view into each speakers area of focus.
It’s a very good graphic. Defintely worth a look.
