This Wikipedia entry on the History of Apple Fonts is most excellent. It’s thorough, wide-ranging and informantive.
For example, I was not aware that the orignal Apple logo and font was Motter Tektura.
But I was aware of the original naming convention for the System Fonts.
Just a fun entry.
