The Zeldman Effect.

I was mentioned in passing off of Zeldman the other day. Well, not me personally. This site. Which is good. The notice is always nice. The traffic isn’t bad either.

The direct effect was that I noticed a brand new referrer coming through. http://del.icio.us/popular/. It’s somewhat self-perpetuating. Which isn’t a bad thing. But it’s interesting to see how a link from an “A-List” blogger can spread, and the power that they carry.

Very nice little self-esteem booster, eh?

When you're big and famous with your great blog design, don't forget us little guys who've been here for awhile!! :)

The three days after I published my web design survey were identical: bandwidth traffic went through a 600% increase, and Technorati threw back hundreds of mentions.

Eliot, like I'm ever going to be counted as 'big and famous'. I'll be lucky to be considered a "B-List" blogger. heh. But I won't forget the 'little people'.

Phnk, I complete can imagine the fallout of your survey. That was crazy coverage, by EVERYONE. (and well-deserved, it was a great survey). This is interesting because it fell on a weekend, and was from a single source. I saw this once before when Zeldman linked to me for my patterns. A huge spike. I find the del.icio.us effect interesting in that it is somewhat self-perpetuating.
