From the ‘Special’ Collections in the Princeton Library come hand-bound books that are real works of art in their presentation.
The girdle book is one of the more unique and gorgeous books I’ve ever seen.
They cover edge decorations of the books, including an example of edge painting that I saw the other day.
And I didn’t realize that bookbinders left their mark on their work, which in these cases are real pieces of art.
