The NID Gallery is an interesting site. A very different interface idiom.
You see, the mouse wheel seems to be required. That’s how you rotate their big wheels of work. The experience is just fun. I love spinning the wheel, seeing the piece of work I end up with. That’s cool. Seeing the other wheel rotate to show the artist, that’s cool. The viewing of the work, where both artist and piece expand the same…it’s nice. The artist has the same amount of weight that the piece of art does.
But there is something here that’s bugging me, and I’m not sure what it is. There seems to be a lot of flashing and throbbing. Maybe that’s all there is.
The site is defintely fun though. Neat interface idea. I wonder what it would be like on an Apple one-button mouse?

So much fun! The site behaves exactly how I would expect it to. I move to the left, the artist gets larger. I move to the right, the art gets enlarged. I click, it shows more details. I click again and it goes back. The spinning is lots of fun!
