10 Good Rules

Bobby van der Sluis has another excellent article. This one is about 10 Good Practices for writing JavaScript in 2005.

There are a ton of good links and references in this article. This is a great, great article worth bookmarking and storing.

Rules 4, 5, 8 and 10 will help get you started in following theser rules. Probably the most important thing he mentions is as follows.

Document your code well. If you work together with other people, like to share your code with others, or still want to know why you did certain things one year from now, good documentation is key.

Start off with those rules, and I believe you’ll be following the rest in short order.
