IE7 will have tabs.

Well, it’s official. IE 7 will have tabs.

I have problems browsing without tabs, so this is most welcome news. But I was left with a somewhat mistrusting feeling after reading the whole article.

The tabbed browsing experience in the upcoming IE7 beta is pretty basic. Expect additional end-user functionality to come in after the beta.

This states they’ll add in some functionality after the beta. Fine. But right after that comment he starts talking about third-party add-ons for IE, and various toolbars.

Several third parties have built toolbars to provide tabs within IE as well. MSN’s recently released toolbar will also be providing support for tabs within IE when they update it in the coming months.

I hate IE addons. I haven’t seen a decent one yet. And to rely upon third-party vendors to improve your product isn’t what I want to hear before the product is even out.

It might just be early in the morning and before the coffee really hits me. But I’m just feeling a little mistrustful.

I hope the tabs are like all other tabs, and that they are good.

ARticle's silent about XHTML/CSS rendering. Is no news good news? I don't think so. I hope this will come later, but IE definitely needs a few fixes.
