Amyx Corporate Site
http://www.amyx.com
I am a Senior Web Engineer at Amyx Corporation. I am in charge of all interfaces, graphics, design, usability, marketing, development and the whole user experience for the corporate website. This is the redesigned corporate website.
The design started when I was reworking the logo, and I had started to develop a sense of “modern simplicity” for the feeling of the company. I tried to utilize this sense in the layout, keeping the site to a dual-column approach, with prime content supported by the secondary column. The color scheme was built around the logo, purple and gold, with grays supporting as the tertiary colors.
The corporate site was well-received, and was part of the larger effort of re-branding the company that I spearheaded.
The Amyx homepage was redesigned to increase both branding and marketing opportunities.
This is a liquid layout, using dropshadows on the side. I figured this out myself, before anyone was writing this up. (I'm not bragging, but doing this was my own discovery. I just didn't write it up is all.) This is accomplished through CSS.
The primary navigations sits above the primary content, as is a standard CSS list. The structure for the site taken from the previous site, and inspected. There was no changes to the top-level nature of the site.
Secondary navigation (and tertiary) is provided on the supporting sidebar. Location is provided by highlights. These areas were readdressed in the redesign.
Boilerplate: Amyx provides practical and responsive business and technology solutions to assist organizations in reengineering their business processes and implementing solutions required to create and sustain a competitive advantage in today's rapidly changing global market place.
