TruSecure Corporate Website

I was the Director of Internet Strategy at TruSecure Corporation. Basically, that means I was in charge of all interfaces, usability, design, interaciton, web marketing, web presense, strategy, direction and the whole user experience for all of the companies web presences. Including web-based applications, that about 10 sites/apps. A great deal of attention and effort was put forth into the corporate site.

The TruSecure homepage was redesigned to increase both branding and marketing opportunities.

Multiple style sheets were used, allowing for a larger, serif-font page when printed. This page could also be previewed online.

The site was created with standards in mind, which allowed for easily allowing the users to choose their font-size while browsing.

Forms on the site were made accesible using standard tags as label, fieldset and accesskey. The security on the site was centered around user-authentication.

You'll see a couple of highlight screen-shots on your right there. Some of the items they showcase are HTML, CSS, and Javascript related. The Printer-friendly and the change font-size functions are based off of the original A List Aparts' StyleSwitcher. They were then modified to incorporate switching to print view, and then back to web view. There are several hidden <div>s throughout this code. Switching between print and web view will show or hide them. Items such as the URL, link to switch back to web view, text of all hyperlinks would all be shown.

The forms were done with CSS layout, and incorporate label, accesskey, fieldset and legened, to improve accessibility.

There is a problem. However well this site is coded, it does not have a DOCTYPE on purpose. I needed to trigger QUIRKS mode on browswers, to render the navigation without gaps between the rows of images. It works.
