Corporate Intranet
At TruSecure Corporation I was instrumental in developing our corporate intranet. Excellent intra-department communication and company-wide communication was to be our core theme. Department sections were planned, along with several different “commmunity” aspects. Open Forums, Wikis, polls, reference areas, document sharing, and password protected areas are a sampling of the functionality planned.
The look and feel of the corporate intranet was determined to be seperate entity than the corporate site. A fluid three-column layout was chosen for maximum flexibility with a space for navigation (top-bar), sub-navigation (left column), main content (middle) and related information (right column). A sense of personal communication between the company and the individual user was one of the primary goals. Photos of individuals were attached to all messages for a sense of intimacy. Language of the site is in a very informal manner.
The TruSecure Intranet was designed to maximize commmunication avenues, while presenting a friendly, inviting atmosphere letting the communications dominate.
Open lines of communication was a big theme, and was stressed by having multiple points of contact listed in a variety of ways, with both email and phone addresses being very accessible.
News items and communications were given a personal feel by having individual photos of the people making the announcement attached with the communication.
Highlighed sections and documents were easily accessible and available on the sidebars.
