WormWatch Corporate Website
Wormwatch is a site and project maintained by TruSecure. The purpose of Wormwatch is to track worm activity on the internet. This is done via a piece of software, written by TruSecure, that monitors traffic on various node points throughout the internet. The primary vehicle of commmunication with Wormwatch.org was this dynamic chart that was generated through a PERL script running on the server, on a timed CRON-event.
The site was designed to highlight and showcase the inital graph. Colors were chosen that coordinated and enhanced the generated graph, while providing a clean and professional feel. Given the smaller aspect of this initiative within the company, not a whole lot of time was allocated to some of the finer aspects of the design, such as the logo, or re-creating the graph.
Standards-compliant code was chosen as the baseline. All layout was and styling was done with CSS and JavaScript. The graph is generated by a PERL script.
The primary vehicle of commmunication with Wormwatch.org was this dynamic chart that displayed the amount of worm traffic on the internet.
Wormcatcher was a piece of software developed by TruSecure that is distributed for free via WormWatch.org.
Tabs were implemented to provide quick and easy navigation between the primary graph and the other sections of the site.
The site was coded to XHTML, CSS and Section 508 Accessibility guidelines. This allowed for easier templating, code maintenance and enhancements.
