Major Achievments :
The launch of the Sharepoint portal has been considered a success by both the users and the client.
Skills Utilized :
UI Design, Sharepoint, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
A lesson learned :
You don't always need a webpart to make Sharepoint work like you want it to.
Senior UI Designer
FannieMae
05/2004 - 11/2005
Key Roles :
Was a contractor working on internal UI support of FannieMae applications. These applications were multi-page, multi-phase forms that centered around mortgages, and mortage applications.
Major Achievments :
My major acheivement during this contract was the development of a session timeout alert system, built using Javascript, based upon several variables defined on the back-end system. This system kept current information, gave a count-down to the actual system session timeout, and presented itself in a full-screen fashion that prevented editing on the page until the timeout was addressed.
Skills Utilized :
UI Design, Java, Clearcase, Clearquest, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
A lesson learned :
Just because you can have a system do it all doesn't mean you should have a single system do it all.
Senior UI Designer

Key Roles :
Responsible for the coding and implementation of the front-end of the MyHeatheVet Portal. This portal consisted of a public-facing, knowledge-based site, and a private, role-based portal. I was responsible for presentation, strategy of presentation, testing, interaction design, user interface design, content management, executive reports, management of resources, training, and inter-department communication.
Major Achievments :
The achievement I was most pleased with was a redesign of the framework using BEA Workshop. We moved from a table-based layout to a CSS design for the interior content. I also redesigned the teams intranet and redid many of their presentational graphics.
Skills Utilized :
UI Design, SharePoint, Java, BEA 8, BEA Workshop, Dreamweaver, Training, Visio, Interaction Design, Information Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, Requirements Discovery.

Senior Web Systems Engineer
Amyx, Inc.
09/2003 - 11/2004
Key Roles :
Responsible for the design and development of the companies public web sites, internal Knowledge Management Portal, and client sites. These responsibilities included usability testing, interaction design, information architecture, user trending, user interface design, user profiling, content management, executive reports, management of resources, inter-department communication, and coding, development and management of corporate sites.
Major Achievments :
The achievement I was most pleased with was a redesign of the company logo. We were moving the company away from a strong DoD association, and wanted to re-brand the company to refelct this. This was to be an "evolutionary" approach to a redesign however, and not from scratch. Our old logo consisted of a Pentagon, along with the words "Defense Logistics". After much work, an elegant solution was found within the shapes of the current text of the logo itself. I feel that the logo is solid, and works quite well. I was also the MVP Employee of the Quarter (Q1, 2004).
Skills Utilized :
UI Design, SharePoint, ColdFusion, C#, Microsoft Project, Knowledge Management, CommonSpot, Visio, Logo Design, Interaction Design, Information Design, User Experience Design, Application Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP, SQL, Requirements Discovery.

Major Achievments :
The most notable achievement include a complete redesign of the company's web-based product (including many of the above responsibilities) that was met with critical acclaim from customers. Also implmented an Internet Steering Committee Meeting that help improve cross-departmental needs and wishes regarding online functionality and wishes. This process highlighted a severe lack of change-management process, which I was instrumental in implementing. I was also chosen as a 2001 MVP Employee.
